Altera Design has consistently been rated one of the best kitchen and bath firms in the San Francisco Bay Area by the American Ratings Corporation, who has honored us their coveted Diamond Certified status every year since 2005. The American Ratings Corporation is known to provide the most accurate ratings of local companies available because of their rigorous 12-step process that uses independent analysis to measure a company’s performance in the areas of customer satisfaction, insurance coverage, license, business practices and complaint bureau status. In order to be Diamond Certified, companies must score greater than 90 on a 100 point scale of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Companies are tested initially and then on an ongoing quarterly basis to ensure consistently top service levels and adherence to strict Diamond Certified service guidelines. Only the “best of the best” rated the “Highest in Quality” earn this prestigious distinction.

National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA)

Altera Design is a proud member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), a national trade association with more than 40,000 industry professionals who sets the gold standard for kitchen and bath training and certification. Altera Design features two designers who are NKBA certified kitchen and bath designers, and has won two prestigious NKBA national design awards for previous projects.

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), which Altera Design is a member of, only admits members after an extensive screening process and provides the remodeling industry with a formalized standard of expertise, knowledge and conduct, including a pledge to uphold the association’s strict Code of Ethics. Not just a member, Altera Design is a leader within NARI. Altera Design owner Jim Vivrette is currently President of the Diablo Valley Chapter. Jim previously served a two-year term as President of the Greater East Bay chapter, which has named Altera Design as “Contractor of the Year” previously.

License and Insurance

Altera Design holds a blemish-free California Contractor’s License #B577881. We are fully insured including General Liability and Worker’s Compensation insurances. Altera Design is also a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an “A+” rating.
