With more than 25 years of experience in all phases of residential remodeling, Jim Vivrette has a passion for kitchen and bath design. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and completing a master’s program at California State, East Bay, Jim gained several years of management experience in the public and private sectors. However, he always dreamed of starting his own business.
In 1986, Jim created Altera Design & Remodeling. Known for his vision and creativity, he has transformed thousands of homes to match the dreams of his clients. Jim loves facing new challenges and prides himself on his ability to overcome design obstacles that have stymied other firms. He has assembled a team of friendly, sincere, intelligent and creative designers and remodelers who provide impeccable service in all aspects of the job. An award-winning designer, Jim continues to focus his attention on great customer service, tremendous quality and timely scheduling. He attends numerous educational classes each year to ensure that he and the Altera Design & Remodeling team are always on the leading edge of the kitchen and bath industry.

Yuko Matsumoto has designed beautiful kitchen and bath remodel projects for Altera Design & Remodeling for more than seven years, including some of our most complex projects. After receiving a bachelor's degree in English literature from Tsuda College in Japan, Yuko completed an Interior Design Certification program and continues to take classes to stay at the forefront of the industry. She previously served as a kitchenware buyer for Williams-Sonoma in Japan, and Kitchenelia, a high-end kitchen goods store in Japan. Fluent in Japanese, Yuko brings a unique blend of talent, design and cultural perspective to Altera Design.

Sarah Aronson

Sarah is committed to the ideal that professionalism, attention to detail and listening to her clients allow her to create designs that are functional, beautiful and meet their needs. A graduate of Chico State University (Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design), Sarah is also an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers, an organization whose members are committed to providing clients with fresh expressions of designs that enhance their lives. She is also recognized by the National Kitchen and Bath Association as an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer.
So, whether Sarah helps you pick out that perfect component from our showroom or works with you to re-envision your entire home, she will display the care and courtesy of a true professional.

Jennifer Rocha
Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager, Jennifer’s role is critical to the success of the company. Functioning as Altera Design’s estimator, customer relationship manager and IT lead, Jennifer works very closely with Jim to help run the company’s current operations as well as plan for and execute against its future goals. Her strong background, which includes experience as a kitchen designer, outside salesperson and design assistant for both large companies and small businesses in the remodeling industry, makes her expertly suited for her position and to provide clients with a great remodeling experience. Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys photography and crafts, especially as it relates to her young daughter.

Rhonda Enriquez
Accounting Manager

As the Accounting Manager, Rhonda is the crucial link between clients, vendors and internal teams at Altera Design. With more than 15 years of experience in contract administration, cost accounting, office management and paralegal, as well as four years in the U.S. Air Force, Rhonda brings discipline, organization and professionalism to her job. She believes in treating her clients the way she would like to be treated, and ensures they have the best Altera Design experience possible. Away from the office, Rhonda loves going to baseball and football games, organizing church fundraisers, and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.

Sylvia Vivrette
Accounting Manager

Sylvia has been the office manager since the inception of Altera Design and Remodeling in 1986. She has provided more than 25 years of administrative support including human resources, accounts payables and receivables, payroll, and all administrative aspects of both the remodeling company and the showroom. Sylvia prides herself in maintaining the professional yet family-oriented culture at Altera Design, providing staff with an arena for open communication and interaction . Off hours, she enjoys travel, music, biking, attending A’s baseball games, college football games, and particularly loves spending time with her family and friends.
Project Managers
Our in-house team of project managers collectively represent over 100 years of building experience. As the ones responsible for overseeing the implementation of the design, they are all highly trained and highly experienced craftsmen with a meticulous eye for detail and an unwavering focus on quality. Dedicated to only one project at a time, our project managers also understand and offer exceptional project management and customer service. Our project managers are day-to-day contacts in field for our clients, and together with our designers, ensure that projects are completed on time and budget. As face of Altera Design to homeowners, our project managers are committed to providing a great experience as much as anyone in the company.
